Also known as Conichrome®, Phynox®, and Elgiloy®, this cobalt-chromium-nickel-molybdenum-iron alloy was originally developed by Batelle Laboratories for the making of watch springs. Due to its excellent corrosion resistance, mechanical strength, and fatigue resistance FWM® 1058 is the preferred choice for surgical implants.
